We do not Completely Exist in Linear Time: Most of us Have Pieces Stuck in Other Timelines Needing Our Help

I was listening to a friend of mine the other day as she was sharing her story about being in a very traumatic car accident many years ago. She said it took a lot of physical therapy and hard work to fully recover. However, she recalled the panic she felt being trapped in the car, waiting for rescuers to free her and how this panic feeling is still with her today. She said anytime she feels “trapped” or sees someone “trapped” (like on TV) it’s like she is right back in that car, feeling extreme panic again.Continue reading “We do not Completely Exist in Linear Time: Most of us Have Pieces Stuck in Other Timelines Needing Our Help”

Real Life Mimics Internal Self – A Personal Account of my Recent Hiring Experience

I had a dream last night that I showed up to work without my uniform. It got me thinking. I believe we manifest situations and people in our lives for ultimate growth and learning, especially if these situations and people really get under our skin. When this happens in my life, I take it as a sign that some part of me wants to leap out of a self-imposed box and have a breakthrough – almost as if to say: I’ve had enough of being bothered and want to move on from this ridiculousness. Continue reading “Real Life Mimics Internal Self – A Personal Account of my Recent Hiring Experience”

Finding Your Humanity in Times of Stressful and Uncertain World Politics

I recently watched a video on compassion with Werner Erhard, a leader in the field of personal transformation, and Dr. Jim Doty, one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons. (The entire video is below.) I found it extremely beneficial in that I learned we, as humans, are hard-wired to care, it’s our default state and it’s how we function. As it turns out, compassion is the most optimal state for our health. When the heart and brain are working together, there are many, many benefits to us as humans.  It’s also been proven medically that we are made to care.Continue reading “Finding Your Humanity in Times of Stressful and Uncertain World Politics”

Creating a Future of Possibility

Imagine what life would be like without judgment. As far as I can tell, judgment is pervasive and automatic: we do it without realizing. We judge ourselves and we judge others. We have opinions and we make comparisons. Our brain does this in split seconds and before we know it, our opinion or judgment is being thought and/or spoken. In order to do this we must access the past.Continue reading “Creating a Future of Possibility”

I’m Coining a Phrase: “Blogger’s Discernment”

I’m fairly new to blogging, under a year, and have been spending time reading lots of great posts in WordPress . Under the advisement of a seasoned blogger, I started following the people who follow me, figuring we’d have similar interests. For the most part that has proven true. Then, from those blogs, I read other’s comments and if I liked the comment, I’d check out their blog too! So far so good, I’m having fun!Continue reading “I’m Coining a Phrase: “Blogger’s Discernment””

A Long-Awaited Change is Coming: Don’t be Surprised if Your Life Starts Shifting in a Powerful Way!

I feel an exciting, welcomed consciousness change in our midst that is having an apparent effect on people. I’ve been reading articles and blogs discussing significant changes taking place in people’s lives, starting with making big changes to their environment. Lots of people are moving and/or clearing out stuff that has been hanging around for years, like a “spring cleaning” of sorts – but this stuff was previously left untouched by past spring-cleanings.Continue reading “A Long-Awaited Change is Coming: Don’t be Surprised if Your Life Starts Shifting in a Powerful Way!”

Rekindling Creativity: Healing Stuck Feelings That Block Inspiration

I’ve heard people say they’ve received creative inspiration from various kinds of places. I can’t really speak to this because I have limited personal experience with creativity. I’ve always believed and said, for better of worse, “I’m not a creative person.” I couldn’t conceive of what being creative meant so it wasn’t missing for me, except, though, when I came across a creation that really spoke to me. I would be in complete admiration and appreciation for the creator’s talent!Continue reading “Rekindling Creativity: Healing Stuck Feelings That Block Inspiration”

Facing Our Fear of the Dark

Darkness would have us believe it’s engaged in an all-out war with the light. Is it true? Is there actually a war going on between darkness and light? Darkness (our own fear) would have us believe it will prevail, that it’s stronger then the light. It uses our love against us and others by shutting us down, enabling us to cause harm to and/or turn us away from the ones we love. Continue reading “Facing Our Fear of the Dark”

Start Healing Life-Long Vicious Cycles and Triggers – Put an End to the Blame Game

Being triggered into a reaction causes you to behave in ways you wouldn’t dream of under normal circumstances, and once the dust settles, you most likely regret your actions and wonder why you couldn’t stop yourself – again. This occurs probably more often than you like. So what can you do about it?Continue reading “Start Healing Life-Long Vicious Cycles and Triggers – Put an End to the Blame Game”

How Paying Attention to Your Words Can Increase Your Life Force and Vitality

Our words contribute to healthy living and are just as important to us as good nutrition and exercise. Our words are powerful and carry weight. If we are not careful, continually being casual with our word and promises may lead to unconscious feelings of guilt, unworthiness, self-blame and depression. Sound severe? Over time, this negatively effects our vitality and life force. It eats away at us until we believe we are not worthy and can’t be trusted.Continue reading “How Paying Attention to Your Words Can Increase Your Life Force and Vitality”

Knowing Your Values Can Help You Achieve a Greater State of Clarity on Your Path

I saw Wayne Dyer speak years ago and something he shared really stuck with me. He told us he had to squeeze every ounce of toothpaste from the tube before throwing it away. It’s not something he thought about, he just always did it. He said it really frustrated him when he saw a not-so-empty toothpaste tube in the garbage that one of his kids had thrown away. He described how he picked it out of the trash with discontent and continued to use it until the tube was completely flat. The Inner Child – To What Extent Can it Control Our Lives?

A new inner child of mine has been awakened and is trying to take over my life. I have been unaware of this particular inner child and was asleep to what was really going on beneath the surface. You can know something, as in “Oh yeah, I know that.” But it’s not the same as knowing something, as in the embodiment of the first hand experience of knowing something.Continue reading “The Inner Child – To What Extent Can it Control Our Lives?”

The Inner Journey to Self Love

Now-a-days people are finding themselves face to face with their mirror image. It’s usually someone they know and frequently interact with, someone they can’t stand, causing constant frustration and/or driving them crazy, and someone who has the exact opposite “self” to them resulting in constant triggering. This could be anyone – a spouse, co-worker, sibling, parent, child . . .Continue reading “The Inner Journey to Self Love”

Asking For What You Want

Recently I have been reminded of something very important: We always get what we ask for! More times than not though, things appear out of the blue and we scratch our heads wondering- Why did this happen? I didn’t ask for this nor do I need this now! It just proves to me that we don’t always know or can’t remember asking for something. Continue reading “Asking For What You Want”

Speaking up for Yourself – Easier Said Than Done!

This can be a very stressful decision – Do I speak up or say nothing?  I have struggled with finding my voice for many years. I have also been healing that which stops me from speaking up for myself. My tendency would be to “stuff it” down and say nothing out of fear of reprisal. I have recently been in a situation that challenged me yet again to speak up. I share the following in hope that it will help others sort through this dilemma!Continue reading “Speaking up for Yourself – Easier Said Than Done!”

The Body Temple – Leaving is no Longer an Option

I just returned from a 21 day trip through Peru and Bolivia. When I was deciding whether or not to book the trip, I kept thinking: I don’t want to go to Peru or Bolivia, but I kept coming back to the idea that it might be worth it since a good friend and spiritual leader was also going. As it turns out . . .Continue reading “The Body Temple – Leaving is no Longer an Option”

The Breath of Life

It’s now Autumn and I suppose the trees could be saying – “What’s the point? Why do I have to drop my leaves again?” It’s what they do isn’t it, without a thought. We are a part of nature, so it follows that we all drop our leaves too. I know for myself I’ve had cycles in my life of dropping my leaves, followed by moments of contemplation and hibernation, then moving into growing new leaves again. It’s a continuous cycle on a micro scale: birth – growth – death, on and on throughout life. Continue reading “The Breath of Life”

The Pursuit of Happiness Will Not End in Happiness. Read More to Find Out Why!

Just the nature of “being in pursuit . . .” implies something is missing, akin to “the grass is always greener on the other side.”  The one in pursuit believes he or she lacks the very thing they are pursuing. In the midst of pursuit, the very thing you are after, in this case happiness, will always elude you. That is the nature of pursuit. It’s only when we give up the search, in the absence of looking, and in the stillness, can we actually obtain what we were seeking.Continue reading “The Pursuit of Happiness Will Not End in Happiness. Authenticity: Being True to Yourself is the Greatest Gift

I hear the word “authentic” a lot. It’s one of those words that have an assumed meaning, like one we can almost pull out of our heads and put words to. I wanted to focus on this word in particular and apply it to my own life. I want to know if I am being authentic.Continue reading “Authenticity: Being True to Yourself is the Greatest Gift”

Freedom: Now You Can Have the Keys!

I have been asking myself lately: What does freedom look like in my life? How would I know if I were free? And, Why is freedom so important to me? In the past, I associated freedom with the physical, through my body. Running has always felt like freedom to me, however there have been few times in my life that my body actually felt the ease of running. What does physical freedom really feel like then? But what about emotional freedom or spiritual freedom? Have I ever experienced these freedoms?Continue reading “Freedom: Now You Can Have the Keys!”
