Real Life Mimics Internal Self – A Personal Account of my Recent Hiring Experience

I had a dream last night that I showed up to work without my uniform. It got me thinking. I believe we manifest situations and people in our lives for ultimate growth and learning, especially if these situations and people really get under our skin. When this happens in my life, I take it as a sign that some part of me wants to leap out of a self-imposed box and have a breakthrough – almost as if to say: I’ve had enough of being bothered and want to move on from this ridiculousness.  Read More

Finding Your Humanity in Times of Stressful and Uncertain World Politics

I recently watched a video on compassion with Werner Erhard, a leader in the field of personal transformation, and Dr. Jim Doty, one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons. (The entire video is below.) I found it extremely beneficial in that I learned we, as humans, are hard-wired to care, it’s our default state and it’s how we function. As it turns out, compassion is the most optimal state for our health. When the heart and brain are working together, there are many, many benefits to us as humans.  It’s also been proven medically that we are made to care. Read More

Creating a Future of Possibility

Imagine what life would be like without judgment. As far as I can tell, judgment is pervasive and automatic: we do it without realizing. We judge ourselves and we judge others. Over time, this negatively effects our vitality and life force. It eats away at us until we believe we are not worthy and can’t be trusted. Read More

The Pursuit of Happiness Will Not End in Happiness. Read More to Find Out Why!

Just the nature of “being in pursuit . . .” implies something is missing, akin to “the grass is always greener on the other side.”  The one in pursuit believes he or she lacks the very thing they are pursuing. In the midst of pursuit, the very thing you are after, in this case happiness, will always elude you. That is the nature of pursuit. It’s only when we give up the search, in the absence of looking, and in the stillness, can we actually obtain what we were seeking. Read More

Authenticity: Being True to Yourself is the Greatest Gift

I hear the word “authentic” a lot. It’s one of those words that have an assumed meaning, like one we can almost pull out of our heads and put words to. I wanted to focus on this word in particular and apply it to my own life. I want to know if I am being authentic. Read More

Healing the Inner Child

There is a wealth of information regarding healing the inner child. For the purposes of my blog, I’d like to share from my own personal experience. I got in touch with my inner child in June 2011. My sister Sue mentioned the name Sophie for her and it stuck. I feel that it’s good to name your inner child, others may disagree. I can have a conversation with Sophie, giving her an identity and a voice. It makes it easier for me to relate to her. She is a part of me and remains a separate part of me until we are all fully integrated . . . which I feel will be very soon! Read More
