Some people say it’s selfish or vain to love yourself. You may have even heard it’s bad to love yourself. This is a myth and a lie! Many people don’t even know what it means or what loving yourself entails. Imagine the looks you might get from people you know if you were to suddenly announce out loud: “I love myself!!” while proudly sporting a big smile. A likely response from your friends might be: “Oh . . . that’s nice.” at the same time thinking: “Who does she think she is?” Read More
I remember years ago reading a wonderful story from OSHO about Blessings in Disguise. It really struck me as truth and a great example of the ultimate in allowing and not being attached to outcomes. The opposites of good and bad meld together when we are being neutral and open to all possibilities. Read More

A fellow blogger and amazing photographer I follow on WordPress, Amy Rose, recently lost a dear friend and in the same week, was told her mother has only months to live. The photos she posted on her most recent blog (the featured image above is one) capture the power of her emotions as she was experiencing them. These photos are stunning. They capture her broken heart and feelings of loss, sadness and grief. I can also see in them her heart full of love and joy, as if while in her grief, she was remembering the times she spent with her friend. These photos embody life. From a death . . . life was born through creation. Read More
There is a wealth of information regarding healing the inner child. For the purposes of my blog, I’d like to share from my own personal experience. I got in touch with my inner child in June 2011. My sister Sue mentioned the name Sophie for her and it stuck. I feel that it’s good to name your inner child, others may disagree. I can have a conversation with Sophie, giving her an identity and a voice, making it easier to relate to her. Read More
The first counsel written over the gateway to the temple of Delphi, “Know Thyself” is an important element of good discernment. In my experience, there is a direct correlation between the quality of discernment and how well I know myself. Having good discernment can help me see things with a clear eye and receive answers to questions like: Read More
Negative beliefs are very destructive to ourselves and others, mostly because we believe they are true and identify with them when we use “I am” in front of things like: a burden, weak, not worthy, a mistake . . . It’s not true. You are not a burden! Your negative thoughts are a burden – more likely. Wars are fought over beliefs, we would die for some of them, believing ourselves to be “right” to the death. Many times we find these beliefs we are suffering over aren’t even ours. They are ones we picked up from our parents, family, friends, teachers and the media. read More

Not so long ago, I realized I was lacking a relationship and connection with God. I may have even been a bit skeptical, or perhaps had unfinished business. I knew about synchronicity, coincidence, The Secret, The Law of Attraction, the Universe, etc., but my interest was mainly from a point of view: That’s just how things work here. It wasn’t personal, I just knew this stuff existed. I had faith, but it was limited to only what I could achieve alone. I was the master of my life and the master of my destiny! Read More
My book, The Path to My Heart, is a story about my fragmented pieces coming back into my life for healing and heart integration. It was obviously time, but I had no idea it was about to happen. They came to life, one by one, with stories of their own healing adventure and a willingness to face their demons. Sophie, my inner child, finally faces her demons at a circus fun house! Read More
Disassociation can happen when we are triggered and traumatized. We can fragment without being aware that a part of us has left, losing a sense of who we are. It’s like being in the world but not of it, you’re here but you’re not, going through the motions but not feeling much of anything. You may have a moment of clarity and realize much of your life has been lived without you. Read More
